Parents Corner

For any child to develop a love and understanding for sport, we feel parents are a vital component in the jigsaw. With parents having an “awareness” of sport we at Co-Dex Kids involve the parents right from the start of the learning phase.
With the 2,3 and 4 year olds parents have to sit in, in all the classes that their children participate in, as we want the parents to have an understanding of all our concepts. We are not a professional baby sitting company where parents rush in and drop their children off and then turn up 30-40 minutes later asking their child “ Did you have a good time”. At Co-Dex classes parents are encouraged to watch listen and learn the games we play so that they can help their children outside the classes.
At present (2004) we are constantly seeing children playing game boys, on mobiles, computers etc. This era of child is known as “The Thumb Culture”.

Where has the good old days of PLAY gone ?

Do you remember the days of just going out onto the street or going down the local park and just playing with your friends. Those days seems so far removed from today’s society but one of the aims of Co-Dex kids classes is to teach some old fashioned skills and games through modern day technology and teaching skills and equipment.
